Cultural Entrepreneurship News is a Blog which maps relevant sources of information on the emerging field of Cultural Entrepreneurship.
About the author: Maria-Louiza Laopodi has launched this blog in 2014.

She has trained as an Interior Architect and a Cultural Manager and it has been some time she has been investigating the way traditional cultural production and the established economy combine, how they cooperate and affect one another. Her trigger was the recent economic crisis when she saw cultural funding collapse altogether and major arts & cultural organizations/institutions shrink and stop doing business in South East Europe. At the same tame, the real actors have found themselves without a job. She was one of them.
So, she asked herself, what is the new creative business model needed in order for the arts & culture to “work”? The creation of this blog stems from the need to find out
- what does it mean/ include as a subject area
- its relations to both Culture and Entrepreneurship
- where it stands in the global economy today
- trends, mistakes, and lessons learned, and finally
- development perspectives, opportunities and its future shape
After she launched this blog she made her first steps in entrepreneurship and the blog helped her first like a research map into this unknown world and later as a base for promotion of the Cultural Entrepreneurship Talks which she organized in Greece and Croatia. Since then, more than 600 people from around the world have subscribed and follow the blog.
