Cultural tourism grants from the Oregon Arts Commission
The Oregon Arts Commission has awarded grants to two Salem groups in connection with the 64th Salem Art Fair & Festival in July 2013.
Salem Art Association received a $8,000 cultural tourism grant to expand marketing and outreach efforts in the Portland area. Portland fair goers are more likely to purchase art than Salem attendees, according to the art association.
Salem Pops Orchestra received a $1,000 arts recognition grant to support renewed print advertising and a presence at the art fair.
